I always swore to myself that if I ever get another car, I am not going to ever allow anyone to eat in it; and if they drink anything, it is going to have to be water or ice cubes. I am not the only person who feels this way, however. There are plenty of people out there who find that they cannot get comfortable in their vehicles because they have passengers who have eaten or who are currently eating and spilling things left and right. What's worse is the fact that knowing someone is spilling something in your car can be distracting to the point where it can actually cause you to become involved in a motor vehicle accident something you definitely do not want.I had just gotten my first Jeep.
It was a blue colored Jeep complete with a sunroof and the whole nine yards, and I had agreed to drive one of my cross country teammates Tone-Up Cream Cosmetic Acrylic Jar back from a run that we went on. Now, usually I always keep at least one towel in my Jeep for when I go running. The towel is used to put down on my seat so that I don't stink up my seats with sweat or dirt from running on trails. That being said, I had forgotten to pack an extra towel in my car, and my teammate had forgotten to bring one with her. So before she got in, she eyed my car and told me that she didn't want to ruin my new car. Keep in mind that she was covered in mud and sweat due to the rainy weather we had had that summer. I felt bad as well, but I still slapped a smile onto my face and told her that it wasn't a big deal.
After all, what was I supposed to do- ask her to wait there twenty minutes or longer while I drove back to my dorm to retrieve an extra towel for her and drive it back?I desperately wished that I had a giant plastic sheet to put over my seats, but I didn't. Late on, I had to purchase a seat cleaner to get rid of the sweat stains, mud and overall stink. When I tell this story, people laugh, but I still cringe when I think about it. In another situation, I remember driving with my best friend from grade school in her father's brand new company car. I can't remember what the name of the car was except that it was brand spanking new.
We were on our way back from Jones Beach, and my friend's father had just bought the both of us a couple of drinks. I was sipping on a fruit punch from a bottle when all of a sudden he braked for a light. I was in the middle of gulping down the fruit punch, and in the instant when he braked, I knew that I only had seconds to rearrange the bottle before it did any damage. Too late kind of. The bottle hit my teeth and then fruit puch spilled out from the bottle. In a wild last attempt to not get red fruit punch all over his car, I quickly positioned myself in such a way so that all of the fruit punch spilled onto me and the once-white outfit that I had been wearing.
